Izzat al-Ghazzawi is a renowned Palestinian writer. He is the author of several essays, poems and novels. Until his death in 2003, he taught at Birzeit University and was the director of the Palestinian Writers’ Union. In 1994, he won the Stavanger International Prize for Freedom of Expression.
