Avraham Shlonsky

Avraham Shlonsky (1900-1973) was born in Russia and came to Palestine in 1921, where he worked as a laborer and called himself “the road-paving poet.” He was always associated with the labor movement. In his poetry, he created new linguistic tools or the writing of modern Hebrew poetry and exerted a major influence on contemporary Hebrew idiom.
