Akira Kawasaki is a member of the Executive Committee of the Tokyo-based NGO Peace Boat and co-chair of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). He is the project director for Peace Boat’s Hibakusha Project and Horizon 2012. An expert in nuclear disarmament, he served as an NGO advisor to the International Commission on Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament (ICNND) in 2009-10.
