Hassan Asfour was a close aide to Mahmoud Abbas while he was in Tunis and was appointed by Abbas to participate in the secret Oslo talks from beginning to end. Afterward, he was a negotiator in the Cairo talks which concluded the Cairo Agreement known as Oslo II, was a PA minister and member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, and is now the editor of AMAD, a Palestinian electronic media political site.
