Huda Abuarquob is regional director of the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP) and an active leader in grassroots Palestinian and Israeli initiatives focused on Feminist Inclusive Political Activism (FIPA) and an advocate of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325. A Fulbright scholar, she obtained her M.A. in conflict transformation and peace studies from Eastern Mennonite University and her B.A. in education for social change from Al-Quds Open University in Jerusalem. In December 2017 she was awarded the Laudato Si’ Prize at the Vatican, in honor of her lifelong commitment to peace and peacebuilding.
For women to be able to play leading roles in peacebuilding in Palestine and around
the world, some radical, comprehensive, and sustainable changes in the educational
system are needed first.
