Jamal El-Deek has spent twelve years in Israeli jails on charges of resisting the occupation, and, on several occasions, has been placed in the administrative detention. He is currently the general director of the office of National Institutions in the West Bank on the consultation committee for the Palestinian delegation to the peace negotiations.
