Ava Shaevel has a BA in religion and sociology from Emory University in Georgia, is currently studying Torah at the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem. She has been a rabbi's intern at Temple Emanuel in Newton, Massachusetts; worked with Peace Generation in West Java, was a researcher and reporter at Jerusalem Culture Unlimited; and has been active in Achvat Amim/Solidarity of Nations.
