Ronny Someck, one of Israel’s leading contemporary poets, was born in Baghdad in 1951 and came to Israel as a young child. He has worked with street gangs, taught literature and leads creative writing workshops. Someck has published nine volumes of poetry, been translated into 37 languages and two selections of his poems have appeared in Arabic translation.
