Internships at the Journal can be part-time or full-time. Interns are with us for a period of one to several months. Our office hours are Sunday through Thursday, from 9am to 5pm.
An internship with the Journal provides for a unique experience to work intimately with Palestinians and Israelis who are engaged in ongoing dialogue and exploration of all the central questions on the common Israeli-Palestinian agenda and are seeking to promote a fair and just peace between Israel and Palestine.

The Palestine-Israel Journal is located in East Jerusalem, near the Old City's Damascus Gate. There are a few inexpensive hotels in East Jerusalem and the Old City in which our interns have resided while working with us. The hotels usually offer long-term room rental prices. Local Area:
The Journal is located in East Jerusalem near the main road, Salah-a-Din Street. In the neighborhood you will find several grocers, bakeries, cafes, money exchange offices, pharmacies, clothing and music stores and a post office. The renowned American Colony Hotel (considered "the most beautiful hotel in the Middle East") is also near the office. Local NGOs and international NGOs often hold events that are open to the public at the American Colony Hotel. Other events are held at the nearby Notre Dame Center, opposite the New Gate on the border of East and West Jerusalem, and at the nearby Ambassador Hotel.
Within 10 minutes' walking distance from the office, across from the Damascus Gate, you will find the East Jerusalem Bus Station.
From Highway 1, a 15-minute walk from the Journal, once you cross the road you can catch the #6 Egged Bus to reach the West Jerusalem Central Bus Station and downtown West Jerusalem.
Taxis are available on Salah-a-Din Street.
Staff:
Our bi-national Israeli-Palestinian staff includes two co-editors, two co-managing editors, an associate editor, a circulation manager, an office manager, two public relations officers, a fundraising officer, a webmaster and an online content editor. You may be asked to assist each staff member at some point in your internship with us.
You are encouraged to let us know which aspects of the Journal interest you most. We encourage you to present your ideas for projects and initiatives within the realm of the Journal's topics of concern.
