MEP Arne Lietz is a member of the European Parliament’s
Foreign Affairs and Development Committees and a
substitute in the Human Rights Subcommittee and the
Committee of Inquiry into Money Laundering, Tax
Avoidance and Tax Evasion. He is also a member of the
European Parliament’s delegations for relations with
Israel and the Korean Peninsula.
Given that the U.S. government is not prepared to advance peace in the Middle East,
it is crucial that the EU step into a leadership role in the effort.
