The author participated in designing the Israeli-Palestinian People-to-People Program on behalf of Norway, and was its Program Director from 1996-2003. At the time he was Research Director and later Managing Director of Fafo Institute for Applied International Studies. In 2005, he joined the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
