Prof. Shukri Abed has a PhD from the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University. He was the Director of the Center for Jerusalem Studies at Al-Quds University and has also taught at several American universities and the Universities of Haifa and Tel Aviv. He has published several books on Arabic language, culture, and philosophy, and co-authored a book with Prof. Kaufman on the relationship of democracy to conflict.
