Shahar-Mario Mordechai

Shachar-Mario Mordechai: Born in Haifa (1975) and currently lives in Jerusalem. He has published five volumes of poetry, all of which attracted critical attention. He graduated in Communication and Political Science at University of Haifa and received an MA in Political Science. Mordechai was awarded the Tel Aviv Poetry award (2010), the Prime-Minister’s poetry award (2017), and the Rachel and Leib Goldberg award (2021). He was Poet in Residence at Johns Hopkins University (2018/9), and has served as a political analyst at the British Embassy in Israel. His latest book A Father and Son (2022), offers a sensitive and painful look at his father who was severely injured during the 1967 war.
