Adnan Abdelrazek: Is a Palestinian scholar, researcher and author who specializes in the history of Palestinian property in Jerusalem and a former political affairs officer at the United Nations. He is author of The Arab Architectural Renaissance in the Western part of occupied Jerusalem. A historical and current review based on documents, figures, maps and photographs (2017).
Ali Abu Shahla: Is a Gaza businessman, who is Chairman of AA Consulting Engineers - Palestine. He is vice chairman of the Al-Aqsa University Board of Trustees, vice chairman of the Center for Democracy and Community Development, Jerusalem/Gaza.
Alon Liel: Served from 2000 – 2001 as director general of the Israeli Foreign Ministry and from 1992 to 1994 as Israeli ambassador to South Africa, and is the author of a number of books on Turkey where he served as charges d’affaires, and South Africa, in English and Hebrew. He is co-founder of J-Link, an international network of progressive Jewish organizations from Israel, the United States, Canada, Europe, Latin America, South Africa and Australia.
Ata Qaymari: Is the director of al-Masdar, a daily Hebrew press translation service.
Benjamin Pogrund: South African-born, he was deputy editor of the Rand Daily Mail, Johannesburg, until it was closed down because of its opposition to apartheid. He moved to Britain and was chief foreign sub-editor of the Independent, and later editor of World Paper in Boston USA. He immigrated to Israel in 1997 as founder-director of Yakar’s Center for Social Concern in Jerusalem which promoted dialogue. He is co-editor of Shared Histories: A Palestinian-Israeli Dialogue. His books include biographies of Robert Sobukwe and Nelson Mandela; also Drawing Fire: Investigating the accusations of apartheid in Israel (2016). He is the recipient of South Africa’s Order of Ikhamanga Silver for services to journalism and academia.
Dan Jacobson: Is a professor emerita of organizational behavior at Tel Aviv University and at the Management College, an expert in dealing with situations of individual unemployment, economic, and political insecurity. He has been active in Peace Now and is a member of the Meretz party executive committee.
Danny Rubinstein: Was a senior commentator for Davar and Haaretz on Palestinian affairs. He is the author of a biography The Mystery of Arafat (1995) and It’s Us or Them (2017), a biography of 1948 Palestinian leader Abd al-Qadir al-Husseini.
Edy Kaufman: Teaches in the MA Peace and Conflict Management Program at Haifa University and at the Center for International Development and Conflict Management at the University of Maryland. For 26 years he taught a joint course on Israeli and Palestinian narratives with Prof. Manuel Hassassian.
Frances Raday: Is president of the Concord Research Center for the Integration of International Law in Israel at the Haim Striks School of Law; COLMAN; Emerita of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem; Honorary Professor of University College, London; Doctor Honoris of the University of Copenhagen; and formerly served as special rapporteur for the UN Human Rights Council and as an expert member on the UN CEDAW Committee.
Galia Golan: Is professor emerita, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is the author of Israeli Peacemaking since 1967: The Factors Behind the Breakthroughs and Failures (2014) and with Gilead Sher, Spoiling and Coping with Spoilers: Israeli-Arab Negotiations (2019). Formerly a leader of Peace Now, she is now a member of Combatants for Peace.
Gershon Baskin: Is a political and social entrepreneur, a member of the Prime Minister’s Jerusalem Expert Committee for the Taba Negotiations, founder and co-director of IPCRI (Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information, now Israel/Palestine: Creative Regional Initiatives) 1988-2011 and a columnist for The Jerusalem Post. His book In Pursuit of Peace in Israel and Palestine (2017) was recently published in Arabic.
Hanna Siniora: Is a member of the Palestinian National Council, chair of the European-Palestinian Chamber of Commerce and former chair of the Palestinian-American Chamber of Commerce. He is a former Palestinian negotiator, chair of IPCRI and editor of the Al Fajr daily newspaper.
Hind Khoury: Is former PLO ambassador to France, and former Palestinian Authority (PA) minister of Jerusalem affairs.
Huda Abuarqoub: Is regional director of the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP) and an active leader in grassroots Palestinian and Israeli initiatives focused on Feminist Inclusive Political Activism (FIPA) and an advocate of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325. A Fulbright scholar, she obtained her M.A. in conflict transformation and peace studies from Eastern Mennonite University and her B.A. in education for social change from Al-Quds Open University in Jerusalem. In December 2017 she was awarded the Laudato Si’ Prize at the Vatican, in honor of her lifelong commitment to peace and peacebuilding.
Ilan Baruch: Is a peace activist, a career diplomat and former Israeli ambassador to South Africa. He is chair of the Israeli Policy Working Group (PWG) which promotes a two-state solution in the international community.
Izhak Schnell: Is a professor in the Department of Geography and Human Environment at Tel Aviv University and head of the laboratory for the study of the urban environment. He served as president of the Israeli Geographical Association and as representative of the Israeli Academy of Science in the International Geographical Union. His research interests are in environmental, social and cultural geography.
Jumana Jaouni: Works as a political advisor with previous advising experience in international organizations and local NGOs on political and economic issues. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and a M.A. in War Studies.
Khuloud Khayyat Dajani: Is professor of community medicine and health policy and management and president of the Jerusalem National Society for the Visually Handicapped.
Lamis Alami: Was born in Jerusalem, obtained a BA in English from the American University in Beirut, a Master's in English literature and a Master's in Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh. She taught at UNRWA's women's college in Ramallah from 1975, became its deputy director in 1983 and its manager in 1994, in which year she also became responsible for education in all of UNRWA's 100 schools and three colleges. She also served as director general of The Independent Commission for Human Rights. Lamis Alami was an active member of the Palestine-Israel Journal editorial board until she was appointed by the Palestinian Authority to be Minister of Education and Higher Education in 2007.
Lucy Nusseibah: Is director of the Institute of Modern Media at Al-Quds University and founder and director of MEND (Middle East Nonviolence and Democracy).
Meir Margalit: Is a lecturer at the Ono Academic College, a research fellow at the Van Leer Institute and director of the Center for Advancement of Peace Studies (CAPI). He is a former member of the Jerusalem Municipal Council who held the file for East Jerusalem, and recently published The City of Jerusalem: The Israeli Occupation and Municipal Subjugation of Palestinian Jerusalemites (2020).
Menachem Klein: Is a professor of political science at Bar-Ilan University. He was an advisor to former Minister of Foreign Affairs Shlomo Ben-Ami and former Prime Minister Ehud Barak. His books include Lives in Common – Arabs and Jews in Jerusalem, Jaffa and Hebron selected by The New Republic as one of the best non-fiction books of 2014, and his most recent book is Arafat and Abbas, Portraits of Leadership in a State Postponed (2019).
Moshe Maoz: Is a professor emerita at the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Jerusalem’s Hebrew University. The author of many books on Syria and on Israeli-Palestinian relations, his latest book is Jews, Muslims and Jerusalem: Disputes and Dialogues (2020).
Mossi Raz: Was born in Jerusalem to Kurdish Jewish parents. After serving as an officer in the elite IDF Maglen unit he became a peace activist, served as director general of the Peace Now movement, and was co-founder and co-director, together with Maysa Baransi-Siniora of the Israeli-Palestinian “All For Peace” radio station. He also served as chair of the network of Israeli environmental protection NGOs. Mossi Raz was an active member of the Palestine-Israel Journal editorial until he was elected to the Knesset on behalf of the Meretz party in 2021, a position he held in two previous terms as well.
Munther Dajani: Was born in the Old City of Jerusalem. He earned his BSc degree in Management Systems and Social Sciences a master's degree in Social Studies, Economics, History & Political Sciences and received a doctoral degree at the University of Texas at Austin. His doctoral dissertation was devoted to Initiative for Peace in the Middle East: Conflict and Conflict Resolution. Dajani founded and was chair of the Political Science Department at Al Quds University, and also served as director of the Issam Sartawi Center for the Advancement of Peace.
Nivine Sandouka: Is an expert in the field of program development, management, peacebuilding, and gender issues. She achieved her MA in democracy and human rights from Birzeit University and currently works with the German Association for Development Cooperation – AGEH. She is the executive director of Our Rights – Hoqoqona, a new NGO based in Jerusalem which focuses on civic and political rights of Palestinians in East Jerusalem, especially women, and runs a grassroots initiative called ‘Judi, from me to you’ which aims to bring women together. She is a civil society representative of the International Reference Group for the World Council of Churches.
Suheir Freitekh: Is strongly committed to peace and development, as exemplified by her ongoing commitment to research and study in the field. She is a student in the Peace and Conflict Management Program at Haifa University and recently received a scholarship as a Peace Fellow of the Rotary Peace Center at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.
Walid Salem: Has a PhD in International Relations, is a member of the Board of the Institute of Jerusalem Studies and Research and a lecturer in the MA Program about Jerusalem at Al-Quds University in Jerusalem. He is the managing editor of Al Maqdisiyya Quarterly Journal published by Al Quds University since the beginning of 2019, and is the author of numerous books and articles on democracy, civil society, citizenship, refugee issues, settler colonialism and Jerusalem. He was the director of the Center for Democracy and Community Development in East Jerusalem. Walid Salem was imprisoned by Israel a number of times in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Among his most recent books and research papers are a PhD thesis about “Settler Colonialism in Palestine,” and an article about “Jerusalemites Citizenship” in a settler colonial context, and several papers about the Israeli annexation plans published in several journals. Dr. Salem contributed many articles to the PIJ together with his enriching contribution as a former member in the editorial board discussion meetings.
Yehudit Oppenheimer: Is executive director of Ir Amim: For an Equitable and Stable Jerusalem with an Agreed Political Future. Her doctorate was devoted to the history of Zion Square in Jerusalem.
