Fadwa Al Shaer Khawaja is a Palestinian social and political activist, co-founder and today chairperson of the Jerusalem Center for Women, a nonprofit organization to defend and promote women’s rights in Jerusalem. A former PLO and senior PA Interior Ministry official, Kahawaja represents Palestinian interests at the Anna Lindh Foundation and previously headed the International Relations Department of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern studies and political science and a master’s degree in international studies from Birzeit University.
